GlycoExpress™:
Recombinant biotherapeutics are often glycoproteins. While their amino acid sequences are human or humanized, their glycosylation depends on the cellular production system used and is currently at best of rodent origin (chinese hamster ovary or mouse hybridoma). Hamster and even more so murine glycosylation both differ from human glycosylation in several aspects which in some instances have been found to cause severe immunogenic reactions.

With GlycoExpress™, Glycotope fully overcomes these limitations. GlycoExpress™ is a set of human cell lines for the production of human biotherapeutics with a fully human glycosylation and an optional glycooptimization, benefits, that GlycoExpress™ has frequently demonstrated in our internal and external projects .

Our glycoengineered human cell lines intentionally differ in the glycosylation pattern conferred and hence are perfectly suited for screening glycoproteins for their optimal glycoform. With the approvals of GT-MAB 2.5-GEX and GT-MAB 5.2-GEX for clinical trials, GlycoExpress™ has been approved for the production of biopharmaceuticals for the use in human.
