Clinical Products in Development

FSH (2nd generation)

Follicle stimulating hormone (FSH)

Recombinant human FSH is used in fertilization medicine for men, to induce and maintain spermatogenesis, and for women, for ovulation induction and stimulation of multiple follicular development in association with assisted reproduction techniques.
The current rhFSH on the market is produced in CHO cells showing a limited serum-half life and is suboptimal in respect to biological activities and control of ovulation.
It exists a clear clinical need for improved rhFSH products.
rhFSH is a complex glycosylated product and the human specific glycosylation is known to play major roles in its activity and bioavailability.
rhFSH is improved in respect to biological activity and bioavailability via GlycoExpress by fully human glycosylation and optimisation of the glycosylation and sialylation using its toolbox (e.g. SialoMax and SialoFlex).
Not only the product quality of rhFSH-GEX but also the expression yields are superior to current production systems.
We are currently further developing the largely improved rhFSH using GlycoExpress.
