Cetuximab (2nd generation)

Cetuximab is a chimeric monoclonal antibody, an EGFR inhibitor for treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer and head and neck cancer.
One key mode of action of Cetuximab is the ADCC-mediated killing of EGFR positive tumor cells.
The antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity activity depends very much on the glycosylation of an antibody at the constant region and is largely enhanced via GlycoOptimization using GlycoExpress.
Furthermore, the optimisation of the glycosylation via GlycoExpress leads to an improvement of the bioavailability and hence activity profile which is especially important for the Cetuximab due to its particular glycosylation status.
Additionally, Cetuximab is produced in very high yields using the rapid high yield serum-free GlycoExpress production system which is superior to current production systems on the market in speed, yield and product quality.
